About the GFWC Mount Dora Woman's Club
From its founding in 1919 to today, the GFWC Mount Dora Woman’s Club has remained a cornerstone of civic life, honoring tradition while embracing change. The Club began when a notice was placed in the Mount Dora Topic inviting women interested in civic affairs to meet at Town Hall; fifteen women responded and set in motion more than a century of service to the local community. In 1926, the Club became a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), and today it is also affiliated with GFWC Florida.
Now more than 75 members strong, the GFWC Mount Dora Woman’s Club brings together women from Mount Dora and surrounding communities throughout central Lake County who are united by a commitment to volunteer service. Diverse in age, interests, and experiences, our members share a common desire to create positive change in our local community and beyond. Each generation reflects the same spirit of community, compassion, and dedication that has defined the Club for more than a century.
The GFWC Mount Dora Woman’s Club is a designated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
